Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan or Tai Ji Quan is one of the traditional Chinese arts, created in this form in the 13th century by a Taoist master. Originally based on combat techniques, it was later used as a health technique. Indeed, the mobilization of the internal energy (QI) during the practice, provides an improvement of the health in general.

The concentration on the movements of the sequence called Tao Lu, teaches us to eliminate the concerns and to dissipate the emotions which disturb our state of health.

There are 5 major styles. The style that I particularly teach is the Yang style of the surname of its creator.

Tai Chi Chuan is characterized by the slowness of its execution, the muscular relaxation during the practice and the use of the "Yi" intention in each movement. Its practice is beneficial at any age of life, it is never too late to start doing good.

Daily practice stimulates cardiac and pulmonary functions through continuous effort and without brute force. The musculature and the framework are strengthened gradually and gently. Slowness allows memorization, and also facilitates coordination between movements and breathing while developing coordination and balance.
